Cursed Planes

[color=green]
Cursed planes hover over our consciousness,
Like an ancient mythological bird,
With unbearably sharp claws,
Piercing the taught ball of our unremitting nightmare.
The first apparition was around half a century old,
Whence a mirage of hope glimmered,
In the heart of the Congo darkness,
Of the down trodden underdogs amassed,
Together, in the jungle of human existence,
It flickered for a short brief split second,
And then seen no more,
Buried in the greedy human debris,
Belligerently preying for diamond.
A decade later, the carefully waxed and oiled beards,
And freshly won powers toughened,
By insatiable lustful desires,
Derived through bastard genetic pedigree
Of pirate Phoenician sailors,
Brought down another hope, aspired,
To break the spell of mixed up identities,
Upon whose corpses fought,
The two legendary sons of Noah.
Not very long ago,
“Late in the high noon the strange horsemen came” *
Backed by yet another phantom of infirm planes
Usurped from a grimy national army of beggars,
Poor in soul corrupt in mind
And towering over the mutilated limps of national honors,
The shabby huts of emaciated ebony-colored citizens razed.
And in the small hours of a bloody Sunday,
Another plane furtively disappeared,
The latest edition in our long chain,
Of ghostly apparitions.
The plane on which he embarked,
Was green on the outside crimson red from within.
Glimmered against dusk rays,
Was his velvety shining skin.
The hateful xenophobic abuse of slave trade,
A long history of suspicion and intolerance,
Slides away leaving behind a soul unscathed and cleansed
His burning bright eyes **pierced ,curtains unfathomed,
Bringing hope to the down trodden:
“Peace will bless us once more,
Hearing the happy giggling of children.
The ululation of our women, enchanted,
For no particular reason,
Will once more resounds with uninhibited happiness”***

Dear Mustafa Adam
salam
I read your pome the day you posted it and kept it,
but couldn't write any thing as it is so full of true and very sad images, and I was bursting with sadness and disbelief!
On the news since the day Dr.Garang died "Cursed planes" kept on falling!

Thank you for sharing your grief with us.

all the best,
iman

Yes dear Eiman
cursed planes kept falling
and thugs of all colour and breed kept lying
the poor gets poorer
and the sick dies of neglect
how are we going to break this spell or ancient curse?
well , your work, intelligently perceived , is definitely an important
help in breaking this vicious spell
keep it going
and salam to you and yours
